This project provides students with an opportunity, early in their academic career, to conduct hands-on research in the natural sciences using state of the art scientific instrumentation encourages students through experiential learning to pursue a degree and an eventual career in an agriculturally related field. These goals directly address USDA goals of enhancing and diversifying the nation's scientific and professional workforce.
